Intel Releases Twin Lake Processors with Four and Eight E-Core Cores

Intel Corporation has added Twin Lake processors to its portfolio, designed for use in devices such as small form factor computers and single-board products. In essence, Twin Lake chips are an update to Alder Lake-N solutions.

Twin Lake computing cores are reported to be based on the Gracemont architecture, like Alder Lake-N, but have slightly higher frequencies than their ancestors. An integrated Intel UHD Graphics accelerator is provided. The TDP indicator, depending on the modification, varies from 6 to 15 W.

The Twin Lake design includes only energy-efficient E-Core cores, while the productive P-Core cores are not provided. Thus, multi-threading technology is not supported. The L3 cache memory capacity of all new products is 6 MB.

Today, the family includes four chips: Intel Core 3 Processor N355, Intel Core 3 Processor N350, Intel Processor N250 and Intel Processor N150. The first two have eight cores, the other two have four. The maximum frequency in turbo mode reaches 3.9 GHz (see table). It supports DDR4-3200, DDR5-4800 and LPDDR5-4800 RAM, the maximum volume of which can reach 16 GB. Image output is possible via eDP 1.4b, DP 1.4, HDMI 2.1, MIPI-DSI 1.3 interfaces. Intel 7 technology is used in production (design – FCBGA1264).

Online sources note that in terms of real performance, the Twin Lake family of processors are almost identical to comparable Alder Lake-N series products.
