“Intel has solved its problems”: Intel Arc B580 video cards sold like hot cakes

Intel had a difficult year, but by the end of it, the company managed to achieve, at least in one particular area, what it had been working towards for a long time – it released a discrete video card that became a real hit. The Arc B580 model of the new Battlemage family met with universal approval from review authors, and the first batches in retail were snapped up like hot cakes.

«Demand for Arc B580 graphics cards is high and many retailers have already sold out of their initial stock. We expect weekly replenishment of Intel Arc B580 Limited Edition graphics cards and are working with partners to ensure continued availability of assortment in the market,” Intel spokesman Mark Anthony Ramirez told The Verge. The reviews are really full of laudatory headlines: “A new champion video card has appeared for $250”, “The first decent budget video card of the decade”, “The fastest mainstream video card”, “The new king of the mainstream”, “Intel has solved its problems”.

The Intel Arc B580 also turned out to be a stone in the garden of its main competitors: the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 and AMD Radeon RX 7600 failed to make such an impression on the review authors. They admitted that the Arc B580 does not outperform its direct competitors in every game, especially for gamers who can handle 1080p resolution, but its average result is higher, the drivers no longer seem underdeveloped, and the lower price and 12 GB of memory are strong arguments for its purchase. .

Finding an Intel Arc B580 video card for $250 is not easy now – all the first batches in American retail have already been sold out, and one of the largest US retailers Newegg is expected to deliver the Limited Edition version with this price tag only at the beginning of next month. Acer’s $279 option will be available in the coming days; There are several options made by the Chinese Gunnir, but they cost about $400.
