Intel has delayed the start of mass production of angstrom Panther Lake processors until early 2026

Intel held a special event in China to present a new product roadmap for the coming years. According to it, the release of Panther Lake processors is planned for the first quarter of 2026. This is slightly different from Intel’s earlier statements.

Earlier, Intel announced plans to release Panther Lake chips in the second half of 2025. Information about this appeared in the comments to the company’s financial report for the fourth quarter of 2024. However, industry insiders have already clarified the situation: an early launch of the Panther Lake family is planned for the second half of 2025. Their announcement is expected in September-October. At first, only a few select Intel partners participating in the EEP (Early Enablement Program) will receive the new chips. The first batches of Panther Lake processors will be extremely limited, and mass deliveries of devices with Core Ultra 300 chips (the expected consumer name of the Panther Lake series) will begin in early 2026.

The Panther Lake launch will therefore be very similar to the launch of Lunar Lake processors. The first products based on them were announced only at CES 2025 in January, while the processors themselves were presented three months earlier.

Panther Lake is not a direct successor to Lunar Lake. Intel previously confirmed that Lunar Lake, with its hybrid design (RAM built into the chip), was a niche product, and the company has no plans to use the same design in future Panther Lake or Nova Lake processors.
