For more than a month, Intel has been living in a state of uncertainty due to the sudden resignation of CEO Patrick Gelsinger. At CES 2025, the current management had to confirm that production of products using Intel 18A technology on a serial scale will begin in the second half of this year.

Acting Intel CEO Michelle Johnston Holthaus said at CES 2025: “Intel is looking to expand its portfolio of AI-enabled PC products in 2025 and beyond as we are already shipping samples of AI-enabled products to our customers. Intel 18A technology before entering volume production in the second half of 2025.”
Let us recall that for its own needs the company is going to use the Intel 18A process technology to produce client processors of the Panther Lake family, as well as Clearwater Forest server processors. Last August, it also confirmed that it intends to have the first digital design of a product produced for a third-party customer using Intel 18A technology in the first half of 2025. Panther Lake processors will offer artificial intelligence acceleration functions, which explains the reference to expanding the range of similar solutions in the PC segment at the end of the current year.
