Intel Arc B580 was faster than the GeForce RTX 4060 and the previous Intel flagship in the 3DMark Time Spy test

The publication of the first full reviews of the new Intel Arc B580 Battlemage series video card is expected in the coming days. However, some reviewers are eager to share information about the performance of the new product, so data on the performance of the card has been published on the Internet. True, so far only in the synthetic benchmark 3DMark.

In the 3DMark Time Spy graphics test, the Intel Arc B580 video card showed a result of 14,719 points. The observer shared a graph comparing the performance of the new product with the GeForce RTX 4060 video cards from Nvidia, as well as the previous generation Intel Arc A770 and A750 Arc Alchemist. The Arc B580’s result in this synthetic test was higher than that of the listed models.

The Intel Arc B580 performed 31% better in 3DMark Time Spy than the GeForce RTX 4060, and 10% and 19% better than the Intel Arc A770 and A750, respectively. Unfortunately, the reviewer did not compare the B580 with the A580, which is formally its direct predecessor. Tests were conducted on a system with an Intel Core i9-14900KF processor.

It should be noted that Intel graphics cards often demonstrate very good performance in synthetic benchmarks, especially those based on DirectX 12, such as 3DMark Time Spy. However, high performance in synthetic tests does not always mean equally high gaming performance. In real-world conditions (such as gaming), the performance difference between the B580 and RTX 4060 will be significantly lower than the stated 31%. Even Intel itself indicates in its promotional materials that the Arc B580 is about 10% faster than the GeForce RTX 4060 in games at 1440p resolution. And the 1080p difference between cards may be even smaller.
