Chinese electronics brand Infinix is preparing to release the Note 50s 5G+ smartphone in India on April 18, which will have its own distinctive smell. To do this, the manufacturer used “aroma technology” — it integrated microcapsules into the device’s body that act as a source of smell.

Microscopic capsules are embedded in the phone’s faux leather back cover, releasing a light, fresh scent that should last for about six months. The intensity and duration of the scent depends on how the phone is used and the conditions in which it is used, including temperature and humidity.
«We are trying to innovate. One such innovation is the Energizing Scent-Tech. It will be a smartphone that also smells good. There are a lot of technological solutions behind it. We all want to smell good. We want to be around others [who smell good]. If something smells good in your hands, why not?” said Infinix India CEO Anish Kapoor.
The Infinix Note 50s 5G+ smartphone will be available in three colors, but flavoring will be available only for the Marine Drift Blue version. The estimated cost of the device is up to 20,000 Indian rupees ($234).
