Hyundai unveiled the Insteroid concept electric vehicle at the Seoul Motor Show, based on the already mass-produced Inster compact crossover. The concept was inspired by racing simulators and was created by Hyundai’s European design team, whose goal was to combine “gaming influences with extensive customization.”

Insteroid received a wide range of modified body parts, a massive spoiler, track wheels, large air intakes, vents in the wheel arches, as well as a minimalist interior with bucket seats and a futuristic dashboard.
In a press release from Hyundai, the company’s chief designer Eduardo Ramirez says the Insteroid “represents a modern take on the idea of a dream car.”
In addition, Hyundai will feature Insteroid in a video game developed by the company, which will be available to anyone through a web browser. The automaker hopes that Insteroid will “generate additional interest in the production Inster model, which is already on sale in key markets.”
Inster will go on sale in South Korea this summer under the name Casper Electric, and will then expand to markets in parts of Europe and Asia, where it will cost around $26,000.
