Two years ago, Hyundai showed the N Vision 74 concept car – the project reflected the company’s vision of high-speed electric vehicles. As it turned out, the Korean automaker’s research was not only theoretical in nature – there are high chances that the car will go into mass production.

In an investor day presentation, Hyundai said it intends to launch 21 all-electric models by 2030, including the N Vision 74 and another Genesis Magma concept car. Inexpensive models were also mentioned, including the subcompact Inster / Casper, the three-row crossover Ioniq 9, premium electric cars under the Genesis brand, as well as high-speed models. During the slide demonstration, company representatives did not say anything directly about N Vision 74 and made a reservation that the published slides and video presentation are all currently available information.
The company’s work on the N Vision 74 concept was inspired by the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe, created by the designer of the iconic DMC DeLorean, as well as the 2015 Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo virtual supercar, which was supposed to run on hydrogen fuel cells. Therefore, the production version of the Hyundai N Vision 74 may differ radically from the conceptual version both in appearance and in technical aspects.
The presentation also said that the company was interested in the Extended-Range Electric Vehicles (EREV) segment, which uses an internal combustion engine to recharge the batteries. That is, in fact, hybrids. It was noted that the manufacturer’s assortment includes a full range of power units, “including internal combustion engines, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.”
