HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2024: new color and more

The first HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate was released in the spring of 2023: an incredible level of protection for the case (should withstand immersion to a depth of 100 meters); “Expedition” mode, very useful for all hikers; brutal design. I don’t see much point in describing in detail the capabilities of this watch here – we did a detailed review of them.

But the same design, which has become one of the features of HUAWEI’s flagship watches, is updated by the company over and over again. A year ago, the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate Design with gold elements was released, thanks to which the price of this extremely durable and extremely expensive watch reaches 270 thousand rubles.

Now we’re talking about updating the “basic” WATCH Ultimate. The update is also at the decorative level – a new version has appeared in terms of color design, the equipment has changed, but the watch itself has remained unchanged. Somewhere the “updated” version is called HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2, somewhere – HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2024. We chose the second spelling – but this is solely to indicate that there is something new here.

What’s new here, in fact, is the color design. HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate is now available not only in black and blue, as before, but also in green. However, the new version differs not only in color (green bezel with white elements), but also in some other external details.

In particular, on the bezel we see an inscription with the name of the model, as well as a different design of the conventional “dial” than on the other two versions. The materials are still the same – and elite ones: a sapphire glass covers the screen, the main part of the case is made of zirconium alloy, the bezel and back are made of ceramic.

As I already said, the case is protected not only from moisture (IP68), but also withstands pressure up to 10 atmospheres (certificate ISO 22810:2010, as well as EN 13319).

By default, the watch has a titanium strap, it is very easy to take it off and put it on (the button design is convenient), but adjusting the strap to fit your wrist is quite painful.

It is necessary to remove or add segments using a special lever – the scheme is familiar, but they “sit” in place with great difficulty. Fortunately, in essence, this operation needs to be performed once during the entire period of operation.

Moreover, there are alternatives to a titanium strap – and this is just another innovation in the new version of WATCH Ultimate. The watch now comes complete with not only a fluoroelastomer strap, but a green fabric strap with metal elements – in the style of the watch case itself.

The dials have also been updated – a new one has been added, especially for the green version. But in general, there are a lot of watch faces for HUAWEI WATCH (not only Ultimate) – you can choose the one that suits you personally.

Otherwise, these are still the same WATCH Ultimate – software, hardware and functionality have not changed. Yes, they didn’t need to – after a year and a half, not only were they not at all outdated, they never had any analogues. I note that different color variations of watches cost differently: black Ultimate at the time of writing is offered for 49,999 rubles, blue ones for 59,998 rubles (with HUAWEI FreeClip headphones as a gift), and green ones for 69,999 rubles without any bonus.
