The FreeBuds 6 headphones are visually very similar to the previous generation model, with a semi-open design for a more comfortable fit in the ears. The vendor has significantly improved the manufacturing process of the new headphones, the volume of the lower part has been reduced by 12%, and the overall weight by 9%.
Each earphone weighs 4.9 g and has dimensions of 30.6 × 18.5 × 22 mm, and the charging case is 66.2 × 49.9 × 26.8 mm and weighs 40.3 g. Touch control is supported. So, a double tap allows you to play or pause tracks, accept and end calls, and a triple tap allows you to skip to the previous or next song. To adjust the volume, just slide your finger up or down along the sensor, and a long press allows you to reject a call or adjust the noise cancellation level.
According to the manufacturer, FreeBuds 6 are the industry’s first semi-open wireless earphones with impressive playback capabilities. The design uses dual ultra-sensitive acoustic modules. The earphones can play 48 kHz/24-bit tracks without loss thanks to a data transfer rate of up to 2.3 Mbps. High definition and detailed sound are declared.
FreeBuds 6 supports AI two-way communication. Even in a noisy environment, the user can communicate comfortably thanks to the reduction of external noise. The noise cancellation function has also been significantly improved – it now effectively copes with sounds up to 95 dB. In comparison, most headphones offer noise cancellation up to 45 dB.
Huawei Sound’s proprietary technology enhances sound effects and delivers clear audio. The headphones support spatial audio with head tracking. The software is based on the HarmonyOS platform paired with the Celia smart assistant. It not only controls playback and answers user questions, but can also translate online (translation into 21 languages is supported). You can also record audio in the original language and translate it using Celia.
Additionally, the functions of precise positioning on the map, search and notifications in case of loss are supported. The headphones can work autonomously for up to 36 hours. Charging for 5 minutes provides up to 2.5 hours of continuous operation. The Smart Charging function remembers the user’s habits and optimizes the charging process. According to the vendor, this increases the battery life by 37%.
Huawei FreeBuds 6 will be available in Aurora Purple, Starry Black and Sky White colors. In the domestic market, the new product is already available for pre-order at a price of about $ 140.
