Huawei proposed literally grabbing files with your hands and transferring them to other devices – this is AI teleportation

Today, there are many ways to transfer files from one mobile device to another: Quick Share technology and third-party data sharing applications, email and instant messengers, cloud storage and much more. Huawei has introduced another incredible way to do this operation: grab a file with your hand on one device and drop it on another.

The day before, Huawei introduced the Mate 70 series of smartphones, the foldable Mate X6 and the MatePad Pro 12.3 tablet – all of them received support for the new AI teleportation feature. It allows you to make a hand gesture over the device’s screen to “grab” content, and release your hand over another to transfer data to it. Simple and intuitive movement that requires no settings or button presses.

For now, the feature only works with images and screenshots, Huawei says on its website. It is possible that in the future this will affect other types of files, for example, office documents; and it won’t work so gracefully with large files. The manufacturer also clarified that “AI teleportation” so far only works on the latest generation devices: on the Mate 70 series smartphones, on the folding Mate X6 and on the MatePad Pro 12.3 tablet. Perhaps in the future other manufacturers will want to adopt this interesting function.
