Huawei has released the Watch D2 smart watch with a built-in blood pressure monitor

Along with the Watch GT 5 and GT 5 Pro smartwatches, which offer a classic, elegant design, Huawei also introduced the unique Watch D2 smartwatch, which stands out for its ability to measure the user’s blood pressure.

Huawei Watch D2 is equipped with a strap with an inflatable cushion that works the same as a blood pressure cuff. The band inflates at regular intervals both day and night, allowing for 24/7 blood pressure monitoring.

Thus, with the Watch D2 you can monitor your health more closely than with a regular watch that relies only on optical sensors. Of course, the D2 also has an optical sensor that is used to measure heart rate. In addition, there are ECG and skin temperature sensors. The D2 watch has been approved by medical regulatory authorities in the EU and China.

The Watch D2 smartwatch is equipped with a rectangular 1.82-inch OLED display (408 × 480 pixels), which is noticeably larger than the 1.64-inch screen of the original Watch D. The dimensions of the watch itself are 48 × 38 × 13.3 mm, and the weight – 40 g without strap and 85 g with strap. They’re impressively small considering they have a built-in air pump and blood pressure sensor. There is protection against dust and moisture according to the IP68 standard, NFC is supported. The battery life during normal use is 6 days, and with regular blood pressure measurements – a day.

Huawei Watch D2 went on sale today. The cost of the new product in Europe was €400. Read more about the new product in our review.
