Huawei has become the leader in the global wearable devices market

In the second quarter of 2024, 43.7 million wrist wearable devices (smart bracelets and watches) were shipped worldwide, and Huawei became the leader in terms of shipment volumes and market share, according to IDC statistics. Huawei showed an annual growth of 42% – it shipped 8.9 million devices and took a market share of 20.3%.

The main market for wearable devices was China, where Huawei shipped about 6 million units and increased its market share to 38.4%. But the global smart wearables market recorded a decline of 0.7% year-on-year. Demand for Huawei smart bracelets and watches was high around the world – the main growth factor was the popularity of the Watch Fit 3 model. The company managed to increase market share in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

Second in the world was Xiaomi, which shipped 5.9 million devices and took a market share of 13.5%. The manufacturer’s growth was ensured by the budget Redmi series, but the more expensive Watch S3 and Watch 2 devices also showed good results. Third place went to Apple with 5.7 million shipments and a 13.1% market share – over the year the company reduced its figures by 12% due to due to stiff competition from Chinese brands. Samsung shipped 3.3 million units in the second quarter, and the main product was the Galaxy Fit3 fitness bracelet. BBK closed the top five with 2.9 million deliveries and a market share of 6.6% – its children’s models are in high demand in China.
