HP OmniBook 5 AI PC 16-inch with Core Ultra and Ryzen AI chips announced

HP today introduced the HP OmniBook 5 16 AI PC, available with powerful Intel and AMD processors and certified to Microsoft Copilot+ PC requirements.

The OmniBook 5 16 AI PC is available with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor with up to 5.4 GHz, 16 cores, and 16 threads, and up to an AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor with up to 5.0 GHz, eight cores, and 16 threads, and up to an AMD Radeon 860M graphics.

With an Intel processor, the system comes with 16GB, 24GB, or 32GB of LPDDR5x-7467 RAM and 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB of PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe storage. The AMD-powered HP OmniBook 5 16 AI PC comes with 16GB, 24GB, or 32GB of LPDDR5x-7500 RAM and 512GB or 1TB of PCIe Gen4 M.2 NVMe storage.

The OmniBook 5 16 AI PC on the Intel platform will be available with a 16-inch OLED touchscreen display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 2K (2048 × 1280 pixels) resolution, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display supports a 0.2 ms response time, up to 500 cd/m² brightness, provides 100 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, and is VESA True Black HDR 500 certified, as well as TUV+Eyesafe Display for Low Blue Light, confirming reduced levels of harmful blue light.

There will also be a version of the laptop with Intel and AMD chips with a touch OLED panel with similar performance, but lower brightness of 300 cd/m² and 95 percent coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. And another version of the laptop on both platforms offers an IPS panel with a resolution of 2K (1920 × 1200 pixels), brightness of 300 cd/m² and 62.5 percent coverage of the sRGB color space.

For video conferencing, the OmniBook 5 16 AI PC features an HP True Vision 1080p IR camera with a digital microphone array. The notebook has dual speakers with HP Audio Boost technology for clear, rich sound.

The laptop’s specifications also include two USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a headphone jack. There’s also a key on the keyboard to access the Copilot AI assistant. The OmniBook 5 16 AI PC weighs 1.78 kg.
