At MWC 2025, HONOR unveiled its ambitious development strategy, the HONOR ALPHA PLAN, aimed at transforming the company from a smartphone maker to a global leader in AI devices. The three-stage plan includes the creation of new technologies, the development of AI systems, and collaboration with partners to build an open ecosystem focused on unleashing human potential.
The name ALPHA symbolizes HONOR’s commitment to technological excellence. The company intends to “remove technological barriers” to working with AI, as well as create an entire ecosystem of AI devices. The plan includes three key stages:
HONOR is calling on the industry to work together to create an open ecosystem of AI devices. As part of this plan, the company will invest more than $10 billion over five years to develop technologies and integrate AI into devices.
During the HONOR launch event, representatives from Google Cloud, Qualcomm, CKH Group, Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone symbolically lit the “Tree of Light” representing the AI ecosystem, highlighting the importance of collaboration.
HONOR also unveiled a number of innovative developments that showcase the capabilities of AI in mobile devices:
In addition to the strategic plan, HONOR introduced a number of new products. The main new product is the flagship MagicBook Pro 14 laptop. It has a 14.6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 3.1K (3180 × 2080 pixels), a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 700 cd/m². The screen has 100% coverage of the P3 color space and 4320 Hz PWM dimming, which makes it comfortable for the eyes even during long work.
The HONOR MagicBook Pro 14 is equipped with the latest 16-core Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor, which provides high performance, including in modern games. The amount of RAM varies from 16 to 32 GB, and the solid-state drive offers 1 TB. The 92 Wh battery allows the laptop to work up to 12 hours without recharging, which is comparable to the MacBook Pro 14 based on the M4 Pro.
The laptop is made in an elegant aluminum case, only 1.7 cm thick, and weighs 1.39 kg. HONOR has not yet disclosed the global cost of the device, but it is known that in China the laptop will be sold at a price of 5999 yuan (about 73 thousand rubles).
HONOR also introduced the flagship Watch 5 Ultra smartwatch, which is made of titanium alloy and has IP68 protection and 5 ATM water resistance. The watch is equipped with a round 1.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels and supports more than 10 thousand digital dials, which allows you to personalize the device to your taste.
The battery life of the device deserves special attention, reaching an impressive 15 days. Such indicators were achieved thanks to the 480 mAh battery. HONOR Watch 5 Ultra is equipped with 8 GB of memory, supports Bluetooth 5.2 and is compatible with Android 9.0, iOS 13.0 and later versions. There are also more than 100 training modes.
The HONOR Watch 5 Ultra offers advanced health monitoring features, including Quick Health Scan with ECG and 24-hour health analysis. The watch tracks heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and sleep quality.
In addition, HONOR presented its new open-type headphones — HONOR Earbuds Open. The model stands out for its stylish design with a silicone “loop” for fastening on the ears. The headset is aimed at users leading an active lifestyle and supports hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC), spatial sound, and “transparency” mode.
One of the key features of the new product is support for artificial intelligence. HONOR Earbuds Open are equipped with a neural network system for translating foreign speech in real time, which works both in personal communication and in telephone conversations. AI Privacy Call technology is also provided, reducing sound leakage for greater privacy.
HONOR Earbuds Open received a 16 mm dynamic driver using a multi-magnetic configuration with a composite membrane made of elastic TPU and a tweeter with a titanium shell. The battery life of the headphones reaches 6 hours without recharging and 22 hours with a case, while fast charging allows you to restore the charge from 0 to 100% in 110 minutes. The device is protected from water and dust according to the IP54 standard.
Finally, HONOR introduced the Pad V9 tablet, which we already talked about in detail in our review. Let us remind you that this is a thin tablet with a 2.8K screen, a powerful hardware platform with support for various AI functions for productive work, and a capacious battery.
Finally, at its stand, HONOR showed off a variety of third-party devices that are part of the HONOR ecosystem. There are various electronic musical instruments, such as a synthesizer and an electric guitar, all sorts of robots, for example, for playing Go, and even an advanced robotic arm.
HONOR not only unveiled new products, but also demonstrated a strategic vision of the future, where artificial intelligence will become an integral part of the device ecosystem. HONOR is betting on technologies that will change not only the market, but also the daily lives of users, opening up new opportunities for all of humanity.
