Honor introduced the X60 and X60 Pro smartphones with slower chips than their predecessors

Honor has introduced a new series of X60 smartphones in China – it includes the base model X60 and the improved version X60 Pro. According to the GSMArena portal, the new products differ from each other much more than their predecessors X50 and X50 Pro.

The Honor X60 Pro model received a 6.78-inch curved OLED display with a resolution of 2700 × 1224 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a peak brightness of 3000 cd/m2 and a PWM frequency of 3840 Hz. You can interact with the display with wet fingers. The smartphone itself is waterproof, but does not have an official IP rating.

Honor X60 Pro

The Honor X60 Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor (4 nm, four Cortex-A78 cores @ 2.2 GHz, four Cortex-A55 @ 1.8 GHz, Adreno 710 GPU), which is somewhat disappointing since the predecessor X50 The Pro offered the more powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. In turn, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 was used in the regular X50 model. Still, this processor is more productive than the Mediatek Dimensity 7025 (6 nm, two Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency of 2.5 GHz, six Cortex-A55 with a frequency of 2.0 GHz, GPU IMG BXM-8-256) as part of the regular X60 . For example, Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 supports 4K video recording using the main camera. The version on the MediaTek chip can only shoot video in 1080p.

Both smartphones are equipped with 108-megapixel main cameras, as well as 2-megapixel scene depth sensors. The main sensors have a size of 1/1.67”, when shooting, they combine 9 subpixels into 1 (the effective pixel size is 1.92 microns) and support three times magnification. The cameras do not have optical stabilization. The optical aperture is f/1.75.

The front camera of the Pro model is 8 MP. The X60 Pro also has an in-display fingerprint scanner. The X60 model is equipped with a side scanner, as it has an IPS display. Its dimensions are 6.8 inches. The screen supports a resolution of 2412 × 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a brightness of 850 cd/m2. The front camera of the device is also 8-megapixel.

Honor X60

Honor X60 and X60 Pro are offered in configurations with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128, 256 or 512 GB of permanent memory. The new products run Android 14 with the proprietary MagicOS 8.0 shell.

The devices also have different batteries. The regular model has a 5800 mAh battery with 35 W charging support, while the Pro version has a 6600 mAh battery with 66 W charging support. Thanks to this, the devices have significantly different autonomy: in video playback mode, the Pro version will work for 25 hours, and the regular version – 19 hours. However, in game mode the difference is insignificant – 10 hours for the Pro versus 9 hours for the regular model. On the other hand, the Pro version has a sharper display and a faster processor, which drain battery power faster.

Honor X60 Pro

The Pro version also features stereo speakers with support for Honor Histen 7.1 sound technology. It allows you to increase the volume by 300% if you really need it. Both devices support dual SIM with 5G and Wi-Fi 5 (ac). The regular version works with Bluetooth 5.3, the Pro version only works with Bluetooth 5.1. Both also support AAC, LDAC and aptX HD audio codecs. The X60 Pro additionally supports two-way satellite communication via Beidou.

The Honor X60 model with a memory configuration of 8/128 GB was priced at 1,200 yuan (about $170), the version with 8/256 GB of memory received a price tag of 1,400 yuan (about $197), the version with 12/256 GB of memory was priced at 1,600 yuan ($225), and the version with 12/512 GB memory costs 1800 yuan ($253). The smartphone is available in black, green and silver versions.

Honor X60 Pro

The cost of Honor X60 Pro starts at 1500 yuan ($210) for the version with 8/128 GB of memory. In the maximum configuration with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of permanent memory, the device is priced at 2,300 yuan ($323). In addition to black, green and silver options, orange is offered.
