Honor GT gaming smartphone announced with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and price starting at $300

Honor introduced the Honor GT gaming smartphone in China based on the eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, which is complemented by up to 16 GB of RAM. The new product is positioned as a fairly affordable smartphone for fans of mobile gaming.

Honor GT is equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED Oasis screen with FHD+ resolution (2664 × 1200 pixels) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen supports DCI-P3 color gamut and displays 1.07 million shades of color. Peak brightness is 4000 cd/m2, and there is also PWM backlight dimming with a high frequency of 3840 Hz. A fingerprint scanner is built into the screen.

The high performance of the smartphone is ensured by a powerful 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor (1 × ARM Cortex-X4, frequency 3.3 GHz, 5 × ARM Cortex-A720, frequency up to 3.2 GHz, 2 × ARM Cortex-A520, frequency 2.3 GHz) with Adreno 750 graphics accelerator and 12 or 16 GB RAM. The capacity of the flash drive is 256, 512 GB or 1 TB. Effective heat dissipation is ensured by a cooling system with a new design of the 3D Waterfall evaporation chamber using a heat-conducting gel with a high thermal conductivity.

Taking selfies will be provided by a 16-megapixel front camera with f/2.45 aperture. The main camera is equipped with a 50-megapixel IMX906 sensor (f/1.95) and a 12-megapixel sensor with wide-angle optics (f/2.2), which is also suitable for macro photography.

Honor GT is equipped with a 5300 mAh battery with support for 100 W fast charging. The device specifications also include Wi-Fi 802.11ax (2.4 GHz/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.3, GPS receiver, stereo speakers and a USB Type-C port. The new product will be available in black (Phantom Black), white (Ice Crystal White) and green (Aurora Green). The smartphone runs Android 15 with the proprietary MagicOS 9.0 shell.

The price of Honor GT starts at 2199 yuan (about $301) for the version with 12/256 GB of memory. The cost of a model with 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB flash drive is 3299 yuan (about $452). The smartphone is already available for order and will go on sale in China on December 24.
