Hisense PX3-Pro Becomes World’s First 240Hz Ultra Short Throw Projector with Xbox Certification

More and more projector models aimed at gamers are appearing on the market. Hisense announced that the previously announced Laser Cinema PX3-Pro became the world’s first ultra-short throw projector to receive the “Designed for Xbox” certification from Microsoft. The new product provides images ranging in size from 80 to 150 inches with 4K resolution and a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz.

«With the PX3-PRO’s large image, imagine splitting your viewing experience across parallel screens for marathon weekend fun for two players. For extreme hardcore gaming, a response time of less than 6 microseconds is ensured by MEMC technology, ensuring smooth and fast gaming without lag or blur,” says Hisense promotional materials.

Judging by the images provided, the Hisense Laser Cinema PX3-Pro looks more like a set-top box than a typical projector.

The manufacturer has not published detailed specifications, but experts are convinced that the 240 Hz refresh rate that Hisense advertises is implemented only for 1080p resolution. The projector is based on TriChroma technology with a brightness of 3000 ANSI lumens and coverage of 110% of the BT.2020 color space. The new product supports image enhancement technologies using AI, as well as the IMAX Enhanced standard.

The Hisense Laser Cinema PX3-Pro features a 50W front-facing audio system from Harmon Kardon, support for Dolby Atmos, HDR (Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG) and Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Wired connectivity options include a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports with support for Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), an HDMI 2.0 port, two USB ports (3.0 and 2.0), a LAN port, and analog and optical audio outputs.

The software component includes the Google TV platform, which supports most streaming services such as Disney+, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. In addition to this, 3D content is supported, but polarized glasses are required to view it.

The Hisense press release does not list the price of the Laser Cinema PX3-Pro, but some retailers are already offering the new product for $3,499.
