XAI’s Grok AI chatbot has learned to recognize objects and answer questions about what’s in a smartphone’s field of view. This feature is similar to the real-time visual perception capabilities already implemented in Google Gemini and ChatGPT.

On Tuesday, xAI announced the launch of Grok Vision, a technology that lets users point their phone’s camera at objects (like products, signs, or documents) and ask questions about them. Grok Vision is currently only available in the iOS Grok app. The Android version does not yet support the feature.

Grok also has new features, including real-time multilingual search using voice control. Grok users on Android devices can take advantage of these features, but only with a $30-per-month SuperGrok subscription.

Grok receives regular updates and new features. For example, in early April, xAI introduced the so-called “memory” feature, which allows the AI chatbot to use information from previous conversations with the user.
