Google will remove the second search string from the results

For many years, Google has been showing an additional search bar in the search results for some queries, which allows the user to continue studying the issue of interest by searching only on a specific site. But over time, the demand for this function decreased, and the company decided to abandon it.

«It’s been over a decade since we first introduced the search field among sitelinks in Google Search, and over time we’ve noticed less use of it. With this in mind, and to simplify search results, we will remove this visual element as of November 21, 2024,” Google said.

You can really ignore this function, but, for example, when a large resource like the New York Times appears in the search results, the system can actually show an additional search line under the link to the site and its description, into which you can enter an additional query to search only on this site . And starting November 21, Google will stop showing this field.

Many users might not have noticed this change if Google hadn’t talked about it. Otherwise, this is only a small change in the search engine, which is increasingly enriched with artificial intelligence functions. Earlier it became known that the head of Google’s search division, Prabhakar Raghavan, will leave his position, in which he will be replaced by Nick Fox, responsible for the development of AI products.
