NotebookLM was first introduced in 2023 as an online tool for research and organizing notes using AI. Since then, Google has added new interactive features to the app, including analyzing YouTube videos and the ability to turn information into podcasts featuring two AI hosts with whom you can also interact, The Verge reports.
As a reminder, the tool was previously only available to businesses, schools, and organizations, but is now included in the One AI Premium subscription at no additional cost. Users will be able to take advantage of premium features such as customizing NotebookLM responses, as well as increased limits on the number of audio reviews, notebooks, and requests.
In December, Google launched the NotebookLM Plus plan for enterprise customers. In addition to increased limits, this plan offers the ability to customize notebook sharing settings and track the number of views per day.
Google’s One AI Premium subscription costs $20 per month and includes 2TB of storage, as well as access to Gemini Advanced models and Gemini integration with Workspace apps like Gmail and Docs. Students 18 and older in the U.S. can purchase a One AI Premium subscription for $10 per month for one year. “Currently, subscribers will be able to take advantage of premium features like customizing NotebookLM responses,” Google said in an official press release.
