Google started showing full recipes directly in search results

Google has begun testing another feature designed to keep users on search results pages – this time through popular blogs with recipes. Now recipes are shown in their entirety directly in search results, without the user having to open the site.

The feature was called “Quick View” – some users began to see a corresponding button next to individual recipes. For example, when you search for “chocolate chip cookie recipe,” this button appears next to a link to a page from the popular Preppy Kitchen blog. Clicking the button brings up the full recipe with ingredients, photos, and step-by-step instructions—without leaving the Google search page.

«We are always experimenting with different ways to provide high quality and useful information to our users. We’re working with a number of creators on new recipe features in Search that will help users and add value to the web ecosystem. We have nothing to announce right now,” Google spokesperson Brianna Duff explained to The Verge. She also said the feature is an early pilot for a limited audience, and the company has agreements with recipe blogs.

The initiative is consistent with the way search is evolving: Google strives to keep users on its services and platforms whenever possible. AI-generated summaries of information that allow you to immediately find answers to questions without opening sites from the search results also serve this purpose – even if these answers are less than ideal. In the case of recipes, the user will receive a ready-made answer in Google and may refuse to go to other sites.
