Renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 9a smartphone have leaked online, confirming rumors that Google has all but abandoned the protruding camera block in this model, despite the fact that such a design has practically become the standard for modern smartphones. However, the renders presented by Android Headlines show a small hint of a protrusion when viewed from the side.

According to The Verge, the Pixel 9a’s main cameras will include a 48-megapixel main sensor (up from 64 MP in the Pixel 8a) and a 13-megapixel wide-angle module. The front camera will have a resolution of 13 MP. In addition, the battery capacity will increase from 4,492 mAh to 5,100 mAh.

Earlier rumors predicted that the device would feature a 6.3-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Tensor G4 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a maximum storage capacity of 256GB.

Presumably? The official announcement will take place on March 19, with sales starting on March 26. The Pixel 9a is expected to be offered in two configurations – 128GB for $499 and 256GB for $599, and will come in four colors: Obsidian, Porcelain, Peony, and Iris.

It’s worth mentioning that in this price segment, Google may have to face competition from Apple’s fourth-generation iPhone SE, which is expected to be announced soon.
