Google Chrome for iOS has received a number of new features similar to the version of the browser for Android. One of the main innovations was the ability to search using images and text simultaneously. Previously, iOS users could only search using images using Google Lens, but the feature is now integrated directly into the Chrome app, with the ability to add a refiner as a text query, The Verge reports.

Google says the new feature will improve results and make searches more specific. For example, you can take a photo or upload an image of a green T-shirt, and then add the text keyword “purple” to find the color you want. Or you can take a photo of your jumper and then add the search term “care instructions”.

The update also brings the ability to save files and images from the Internet directly to Google Photos or Google Drive, which will help save more space on your device. This may be especially useful for those who have already filled up their free 5GB of iCloud and prefer to use Google’s cloud services for storage.
In addition, there is a Shopping Insights feature that notifies you of great deals on products when browsing sites, and also offers access to price tracking. For this feature to work, you must synchronize your browser history with Google and enable the “Improve search and browsing” option, which sends Google links to pages the user visits.

Also in the new version of Chrome for iOS there is a mini map viewer. Now, by clicking on a site’s address, you can see its location on a Google map without opening Google Maps in a new tab or separate application. This is a small but convenient option that will significantly simplify interaction with geodata. The company promises to add even more new features to iOS Chrome in the coming months.
