Google Calendar to Feature Gemini AI for Easy Schedule and Plan Management

Google is expanding its Calendar app with a panel featuring an artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot called Gemini. As TechCrunch reports, the new feature is already available as part of the Google Workspace Labs program and will help users quickly manage their schedules using just text queries.

To use the feature, click the Ask Gemini icon in the upper right corner of the Google Calendar window. You can then select a suggested query or enter your own. For example, Gemini might suggest adding an event or finding a scheduled meeting with a specific person.

Gemini lets you ask specific questions in your calendar, such as “What time is my manager meeting scheduled?” or “How many meetings do I have on Monday?” You can also create commands that will let Gemini add your workout schedule for the month ahead.

The main goal of the feature is to speed up and simplify the process of working with the calendar, freeing users from the need to manually search for information or add events. Thanks to the capabilities of AI, you can quickly get the necessary information and make changes to the schedule using simple text commands.

«Google Calendar is the latest Workspace app to receive the Gemini panel. It was previously added to Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Chat. The option is currently in beta mode, and it is unknown when it will become available to a wider range of users.
