Gigabyte has introduced the flagship Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice motherboard for Core Ultra 200 processors. The new product is designed for extreme overclocking enthusiasts, and not only for the processor. An interesting feature of the new product is the LGA 1851 processor socket rotated by 90 °.

The board is made in white. The central place in the Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice is given to overclocking the RAM. The new product is equipped with two DIMM DDR5 connectors. They are located on the top of the board.
Having only two RAM slots is a standard configuration for boards designed for extreme overclocking. This is done to minimize noise in the transmission of signals from the memory slots to the processor. According to Gigabyte, the Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice has already set a record for overclocking RAM to 12,726 MT/s using liquid nitrogen.
The new product has a 21-phase VRM power subsystem with a phase scheme of 18+1+2. The equipment also includes two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, four M.2 connectors with simplified installation of NVMe drives (one PCIe 5.0 and three PCIe 4.0), 5-Gbps LAN, a Wi-Fi 7 module and Bluetooth 5.4, as well as Thunderbolt 4.
The manufacturer did not disclose the price of the Z890 Aorus Tachyon Ice board.
