Gigabyte is preparing GeForce RTX 4070 Windforce 2X V2 OC and Windforce V2 OC video cards with GDDR6 memory

Gigabyte is preparing to release the GeForce RTX 4070 Windforce 2X V2 OC and GeForce RTX 4070 Windforce V2 OC video cards, which will be equipped with slower GDDR6 memory. Let us remember that the original version of the RTX 4070 is equipped with GDDR6X memory chips with a speed of 21 Gbps per contact. In turn, GDDR6 offers speeds of 20 Gbps.

According to available information, GeForce RTX 4070 Windforce 2X V2 OC and Windforce V2 OC will have similar characteristics. The cards will be built on a GPU with 5888 CUDA cores, receives 12 GB of memory, a TDP of 200 W and one standard 8-pin PCIe connector for additional power.

Both cards also have the same thickness – two expansion slots (48 mm). The only difference is in the design of their cooling systems. The Windforce 2X V2 OC has two fans, while the Windforce V2 OC has three.

Among the five versions of the RTX 4070 with GDDR6 memory presented so far from various manufacturers, only Gigabyte clearly states on its packaging that the card uses this type of memory.
