Gigabyte introduced the Aorus X870I Pro Ice motherboard in white. This is the manufacturer’s first board based on the AMD X870 chipset in the compact Mini-ITX format. The new product is based on an 11-phase VRM power subsystem with an 8+2+1 phase circuit (Vcore + SoC + MISC). It claims to support all current processor models for the Socket AM5 platform, including the new Ryzen 7 9800X3D gaming chip.

Due to its compact dimensions (170 × 170 mm), the Aorus X870I Pro Ice is equipped with only two DIMM sockets for DDR5 memory. Officially, the board supports RAM up to DDR5-8800 through AMD EXPO overclocking profiles. The new product is equipped with two M.2 slots for SSD (one with PCIe 4.0 support, the other with PCIe 5.0). There is also one PCIe 5.0 x16 for video cards.
The Aorus X870I Pro Ice offers Wi-Fi 7 support, a new EZ-Plug antenna mounting system, and an EZ-Latch mechanism for easy and quick GPU removal. The board’s audio processing is handled by the Realtek ALC4080 codec. Equipment includes 2.5 Gbit LAN, one USB4, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, four USB 3.2 Gen1, four USB 2.0 and two SATA III.
The recommended price for the Gigabyte Aorus X870I Pro Ice board is $299. In Europe, particularly in Germany, it can be found on sale for €330.
