Galax Prepares Monster GeForce RTX 5090 HOF OC Lab Graphics Card for the Most Extreme Overclocking

Galax is preparing to release the flagship GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card in the HOF OC Lab version. The new product is intended for overclocking enthusiasts using liquid nitrogen. Photos of the printed circuit board of the future graphics accelerator were published on the Chiphell forum.

It should be clarified right away: the Chiphell forum published pictures of the GeForce RTX 5090D board, a version of the RTX 5090 designed specifically for the Chinese market. It differs from the regular RTX 5090 in its limited level of AI performance. At the same time, its design is completely identical to the global version of the RTX 5090. Galax will reportedly release both versions of the card in the HOF OC Lab version.

Traditionally, Galax HOF OC Lab video cards stand out with high-quality printed circuit boards, selected component base and powerful power subsystems. These cards are also equipped with carefully selected graphics processors with high overclocking potential for setting new world records. The RTX 5090 model under development is no exception in this regard.

The new product is based on a white printed circuit board equipped with a powerful 38-phase power subsystem. The board itself has 40 seats for inductors. There is also a special 1-Click OC button for quick overclocking. In its current form, the board is equipped with one 12 + 4-pin connector for additional power, but there is space for installing a second connector. Let us remind you that the declared reference power consumption of the RTX 5090 is 575 W – this is almost the limit for the 600-W 12V-2×6 power connector.

According to the source who shared the photos of the new product, he received an engineering sample of the card without a standard cooling system for testing. He also noted that the card will receive a new reinforcement plate, which makes it incompatible with the cooling system for the RTX 4090 HOF OC Lab. For this reason, he had to use a custom cooling system developed by another overclocking enthusiast.
