Fallout Revelation Blues Demo Released – Remake of Cancelled Fallout 3 on Fallout: New Vegas Engine

Modding team United West Team has announced the release of a demo of Fallout Revelation Blues, a remake of the cancelled version of Fallout 3, codenamed Van Buren, which was developed by Black Isle Studios in the early 2000s.

United West Team aims to faithfully recreate Van Buren in 3D (the original version was isometric) using Obsidian Entertainment’s Fallout: New Vegas RPG engine for a new generation of fans.

The recently released demo version of Fallout Revelation Blues offers to explore the abandoned mining town of Burham Springs, which was supposed to appear in Van Buren.

According to the plot, the attempts of NCR (New California Republic) soldiers to smoke out the gunpowder bandits from the mines provoked a series of explosions, which resulted in a fire that lasted for decades and terrible mutants (gehennas).

Players will explore the ruins of the settlement and learn its history, meet the last remaining inhabitants on the verge of madness and search for treasures hidden underground. The release trailer is included (see video below).

As a mod for Fallout: New Vegas, the Fallout Revelation Blues demo requires both the base game and all expansions (excluding pre-order packs). You can download the demo from the Nexus Mods website.

Fallout Revelation Blues isn’t the first attempt to recreate Van Buren. Others include Fallout Yesterday, which was built on the Fallout 2 engine, and Project Van Buren by Adam Lacko, who is mostly busy with another project.
