EVOCARGO electric trucks without drivers began to travel around the Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant

The company Evraz NTMK began to use the Evocargo Autonomous Electric loaders for transporting metal samples and pace of steel blanks through the plant, TADVISER said with reference to Evocargo’s information. Currently, two trucks are involved on routes with a total length of 4 km.

The company considers the possibility of expanding the fleet of autonomous electric loaders in connection with plans to add another route with a length of more than 13 km. As noted in Evocargo, low -tonnage trucks allow you to increase the efficiency of vehicle use, the level of safety on the roads and reduce transportation costs.

Robogruz domestic production are equipped with a multicomponent system of perception and navigation. Thanks to the use of lidars, sonars and cameras, the computing unit coordinates the movement of the truck, instantly responding to changes in the situation on the road. Autonomous electric trucks can work around the clock with breaks for recharging, which is carried out during loading or unloading products.

According to Evocargo, trucks are environmentally friendly because they work exclusively on electricity. In accordance with the principles of sustainable development of Evraz NTMK, for many years, it has been working to reduce the load on the environment, modernizing equipment in order to reduce the negative impact on the atmosphere within the framework of the National Pure Air project.

Evraz NTMK noted that the company is actively implementing digital transformation projects – in recent years more than a hundred digital solutions have been introduced. “Our main task is to do the work of employees safer, to reduce the amount of heavy and monotonous labor. That is why we are introducing autonomous equipment, remote control of units and a number of other automation projects, ”said Denis Novozhenov, head of the Ural division, Vice President of Euraz.
