Video game anti-piracy software company Denuvo launched its own Discord server this week. This decision was driven by the developers’ desire to communicate with gamers and try to convince them that Denuvo products do not affect gaming performance.

Two days after the launch of the Denuvo Discord server, about 2 thousand people joined it. A significant portion of users behaved aggressively and insulted the developers and the products they created. Users accused Denuvo of harming consumers and the industry as a whole, as well as reducing performance in popular games.
Against this backdrop, Denuvo has disabled the ability to leave comments for all users, posting on its social media account X that “the amount of objectionable content has made moderation significantly more difficult for our small team, which handles this alongside day-to-day tasks.” For this reason, changes were made to the Discord server settings, after which users could no longer leave comments.
In other words, the Discord server has been set to read-only mode. Obviously, it should have remained in this state until Denuvo found a way to deal with users leaving angry and obscene comments about the company and its products. A few days later, the server came to life, and the developers announced a number of changes. We are talking about the use of a filtration system. Users will have to spend some time in the slow-mode welcome channel until they prove they can behave appropriately. Only after this will they receive the status of a verified user, allowing them to move to the main server. It is difficult to say whether Denuvo will be able to get rid of the flow of negativity addressed to it due to the introduced changes.
