Deepseek for a week has become the second most popular chat boot in the world, overtaking Google Gemini

The Chinese company DeepSeek is rapidly won the position in the artificial intelligence market, becoming the second most popular chatbot in the world. The success of Deepseek is especially notable for the background of previous indicators. A month ago, the site totaled only about 300 thousand visits per day, but by the end of January the audience flew up to 33.4 million users, PCMAG reports. This leap not only shocked the technology market, but also caused a wave of anxiety among investors, which even led to a decrease in the quotes of American technological actions. NVIDIA shares that fell by 17.8 %were especially affected. According to Similarweb, the global traffic of the platform continues to be high, although Deepseek is still inferior to the market leader – Chatgpt, which collects more than 130 million visits per day.

According to experts, the main driver of the success of Deepseek was the launch of the open model V3, which attracted the attention of developers and companies around the world. V3 training cost $ 5.5 million – much less than the costs of similar decisions from the United States. At the same time, its capabilities are comparable to ChatGPT functionality, but with an important difference: the model can be freely loaded and launched on local servers. This makes it attractive to organizations who want to introduce and technology without the need to rely on cloud services.

Despite the impressive achievements, DeepSeek has not yet been able to overtake the Microsoft Bing search engine, which is used by the Copilot Assistant based on Openai technology. However, analysts emphasize that the success of the platform in the United States is also obvious. “In the USA, Deepseek reached a peak of 4.9 million daily visits on January 28, and then stabilized at 2.4 million visits, which is 813.3 % more than a week earlier,” Similarweb reports.

Nevertheless, the future of Deepseek can be less optimistic due to increased competition. For example, Openai recently introduced a new Deep Research function, which allows you to create detailed research reports based on data from hundreds of sources. In addition, the platform is increasingly criticizing the policy of confidentiality and censorship, which can affect user loyalty. However, current indicators demonstrate that DeepSeek remains one of the most promising players in the developing “seven-mimic” steps of the II industry.
