Dasung introduced a monitor with a fast matrix on color electronic ink – 33 Hz

Last year, China’s Dasung boasted the world’s first monitor with a color E-Ink screen, which was sold in flat or curved panel options. Now the manufacturer has introduced an updated Paperlike Color model, which boasts a high refresh rate for e-ink displays – 33 Hz.

The faster the image on the screen is updated, the smoother the movements of objects appear. Watching videos on E-Ink displays can be frustrating because they have a lower refresh rate compared to LCD and OLED panels, which start at 60Hz. The 33Hz that the new version of the Dasung display offers is hardly comparable to the refresh rate of traditional monitor screens, but it is a significant step forward for E-Ink. The manufacturer even published a video in which the same picture is displayed on two screens: one with an LCD panel and the other with a Paperlike Color display.

The 25.3-inch monitor’s screen is based on the same Kaleido 3 ePaper technology as the first-generation model, but Dasung has developed several new algorithms to improve performance: the X-Color Filter is responsible for improving colors, and the Auto-Clear algorithm solves the problem of image retention . “The magic of E Ink speed that will completely destroy your preconceptions” is provided by God-Level High Refresh technology, and the company has promised to further improve the screen refresh rate in the future.

The display resolution is 3200 × 1800 pixels, which corresponds to an aspect ratio of 16:9; Also noteworthy is the “huge” front light with adjustable brightness and color temperature, which eliminates the need to turn on bright lights in the room. Connection to a computer is made via HDMI or DisplayPort, wireless standards AirPlay and Miracast are supported. The height-adjustable stand allows you to change the orientation of the screen, there is a VESA mount, and there are a pair of speakers. The Dasung Paperlike Color monitor with a 33 Hz refresh rate costs $1,749.
