CoolIT Unveils Water Block for 4kW Chips That Don’t Exist Yet

CoolIT Systems has introduced a water block for single-phase direct liquid cooling (DLC) of chips with a power of 4 kW. This is twice as much as other solutions of this type. The new product was able to remove more than 97% of the heat from a 4-kW test load (Thermal Test Vehicle, TTV) at a flow rate of 6 liters per minute (LPM). This is equivalent to 1.5 LPM per kW, which coincides with the recommended flow for high-power chips, the company says.

Thermal resistance is another critical factor for high-performance cooling – the new water block has an ultra-low Tr
