Contrary to the promises of Blizzard, the second addition to Diablo IV will be released only in 2026

Soon after the release of Diablo IV in 2023, the publisher and developer Blizzard Entertainment had a plan to release extensions for fantasy action-RPG annually, but something went wrong.

Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson from the scene of D.I.C.E. (Design Innovate Communicate Entertain) announced that in 2025 the next addition to Diablo IV should not be expected.

The first addon for Diablo IV-Vessel of Hatred-due to delaying the resources for seasonal content came out later than the planned (after 18, and not 12 months after the release of the game), which was reflected in the production time of the next DLC.

Addon Vessel of Hatred was released in November 2024

According to Ferguson, Blizzard seeks to strengthen relations with the community, and therefore, before launching the eighth season, it will release a schedule with the content planned for Diablo IV, but there will be no second addition to the game in the schedule.

«Our second extension will not be presented on this roadmap, because our second extension will be released in 2026, but at least players will see further plans, ”concluded Ferguson.

About three weeks ago, January 21, in Diablo IV, the seventh content season (Wittle season) started. It will last a little less than three months and end on April 15 – at the same time the presentation of the plan for the further development of the game is expected.

Diablo IV was released on June 6, 2023 on PC (Battle.net), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and with the launch of the second season in October of the same year reached Steam. Since last spring, the game is available in the Game Pass.
