The scheme for purchasing these products under the conditions of sanctions against China allows us to count on the success of such an initiative. Technically, these accelerators will be located in data centers outside of China in neighboring countries of Southeast Asia, so ByteDance will be able to buy even fairly powerful Nvidia accelerators, and not just options adjusted to the requirements of US export control regulations with limited performance.
ByteDance in China offers customers the popular chatbot Doubao, which has 51 million active users. The purchase of a large number of Nvidia computing accelerators will definitely help Chinese developers improve their services, including the TikTok social network, which is popular outside China.
