Cervoz unveils thin M.2 NVMe SSD T445 series with single-sided layout

Cervoz has announced the industrial-grade SSD T445 family: the drives are said to be suitable for IoT gateways, industrial computers, automation systems, etc. Moreover, the products can be operated in a wide temperature range.

The new products are made in the M.2 2280 form factor. The developer calls their feature a one-sided layout: all the main components, such as 3D TLC NAND flash memory chips, a controller and a power management circuit, are located on one side of the drive. Compared to the traditional “double-sided” design, the thickness is reduced by 1.35mm. In addition, the possibilities for heat removal are expanded. This makes the T445 devices suitable for use in tight spaces.

The drives use the PCIe 4.0 x4 (NVMe 2.0) interface. The family includes models with capacities of 256 and 512 GB, as well as 1 and 2 TB. The declared speed of sequential reading of information is up to 5080 MB/s, the speed of sequential writing is up to 4740 MB/s. The MTBF value (mean time between failures) exceeds 3 million hours. The guaranteed volume of recorded information (TBW indicator) varies from 469 to 3750 TB, depending on the capacity.

The products are available in two versions – with a standard and with an extended temperature range: in the first case it extends from 0 to +70 °C, in the second – from -40 to +85 °C. Implemented end-to-end data protection and SLC Write Cache performance improvement technology. Dynamic Thermal Throttling tool helps improve service life. Write Protect is available as an option.
