HMD, which previously made smartphones under the Nokia brand, has announced the Aura² smartphone, an update to the HMD Arc released in December last year with a larger flash drive. The new product will go on sale on March 13 in Australia for about $106.
The Aura² smartphone features a 6.52-inch IPS display with HD+ resolution, 60 Hz refresh rate, and 460 cd/m² peak brightness. The waterdrop notch at the top of the display houses a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The main 13-megapixel camera is located on the back of the device.
The hardware platform is based on the Unisoc SC9863A chipset, which includes four ARM Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 1.6 GHz and four ARM Cortex-A55 cores with a frequency of 1.2 GHz. The amount of RAM is 4 GB, and the flash drive capacity is 256 GB. The storage can be expanded using a microSD memory card slot.
The 5,000 mAh battery supports 10W charging. The fingerprint scanner built into the power button is used to unlock the device. The smartphone runs Android 14 Go and has protection against moisture and dust according to the IP54 standard.
HMD Aura² will be available in Midnight Black and Icy Blue.
