Bethesda denies rumors of Denuvo in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Players suspected that the upcoming action-adventure Indiana Jones and the Great Circle from Bethesda Softworks and the Swedish studio MachineGames (the latter Wolfenstein) would be equipped with Denuvo protection, but this turned out not to be the case.

The day before, journalists from the 80 Level portal noticed that a recent behind-the-scenes update of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on Steam (which can be viewed via SteamDB) confirmed the presence of Denuvo in the game.

There are only a few days left before the release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and hiding information such as the presence of Denuvo in the project was considered outrageous by some players on Bethesda’s part.

Responding to the publication of 80 Level on the social network X, the official microblog of Bethesda Softworks confirmed that Denuvo is still present in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, but only in the version for reviewers.

«Indiana Jones and the Great Circle does not contain Denuvo. [Protection] was present in the builds for review authors in order to prevent leaks,” Bethesda Softworks clarified the situation.

The players were glad that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle abandoned Denuvo and joked that even without the Austrian decision, the project already has reliable protection in the form of the system requirements announced the day before.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on December 9 on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X, S and Game Pass, and will reach PS5 in the spring of 2025. Reviews of the game from Western media will appear with the launch of extended access on the 6th.
