Asus, like other motherboard manufacturers, has not yet announced mid-price segment models for Intel Arrow Lake-S processors. However, samples of such boards seem to have already begun to be delivered to reviewers. The first video has appeared on YouTube with an unboxing of the yet unpresented Asus ROG Strix board based on the Intel B860 chipset.

The Asus ROG Strix B860-A board is made in black and white colors and offers the usual ATX form factor. It is equipped with two PCIe x16 connectors: one supports the PCIe 5.0 standard, the second supports PCIe 4.0. The new product also offers installation of up to four NVMe drives of the M.2 2280 format and one M.2 22110. One of the SSD slots is compatible with PCIe 5.0.
The board supports DDR5 RAM, including higher speed DDR5 CUDIMMs. However, it is not yet known what maximum RAM frequencies the new product supports. Other features of the board include a 2.5 Gigabit LAN and Wi-Fi 7 module.
Currently, only Core Ultra 200 K-series processors and motherboards based on the flagship Intel Z890 chipset are available for sale. Boards based on Intel B860 and H810 chipsets will be presented at the CES 2025 electronics exhibition in early January. At the same time, the announcement of Arrow Lake-S chips without the “K” suffix in the name with a locked multiplier is expected.
