Asus introduced the gaming mini-PC ROG NUC 2025 with almost desktop Core and mobile GeForce RTX 5080

Asus has introduced the second generation compact gaming nettop ROG NUC. The first-generation systems released last year featured Intel Meteor Lake (Core Ultra 100) processors as well as GeForce RTX 40-series graphics. The new ROG NUC 2025 will offer Core Ultra 200HX (Arrow Lake-HX) processors and GeForce RTX 50-series discrete mobile graphics.

Asus does not say which Core Ultra 200HX processor models will be available for the ROG NUC 2025. As a reminder, the Core Ultra 200HX are mobile incarnations of the desktop Core Ultra 200S models and offer the maximum number of processing cores available in the new Arrow Lake architecture. The older chips contain eight productive P-cores and 16 energy-efficient E-cores. The processors also include an AI accelerator (NPU) with a performance of 13 TOPS (trillion operations per second). The ROG NUC 2025 will offer a mobile GeForce RTX 5080 with 16 GB of GDDR7 memory as the graphics subsystem.

Asus has updated the cooling system for the new ROG NUC 2025. In particular, it now includes a third fan and two vapor chambers. Systems will be able to provide up to 135 W of power to processors, depending on the processor model used and operating conditions. In addition, the company has simplified access to the internal components of the system.

The dimensions of ROG NUC 2025 are 282.4 × 187.7 × 56.5 mm (internal volume 3 liters) and weight is 3.12 kg. The new product will offer 16 GB of DDR5-6400 RAM with the ability to install up to 96 GB of RAM, a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe drive (support up to 2 TB), as well as support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

The set of external connectors on the front panel of the gaming nettop includes one USB 3.2 Gen2×2 Type-C and two USB 3.2 Type-A (10 Gbps). On the rear panel there is one Thunderbolt 4 (Type-C with DisplayPort 2.1), four USB 3.2 Type-A (10 Gbps), two HDMI 2.1 FRL, two DisplayPort 2.1 and one LAN.

The cost of ROG NUC 2025 has not been announced. The new product will go on sale in the first quarter of this year.
