For the first time in more than two years, there’s a new entry-level iPad model. Apple just announced the 11th-generation iPad, but unlike all the new products Apple has released recently (like the iPad Air), this one doesn’t come with Apple Intelligence. Apple’s tablet lineup remains a bit of a mess, but the cheapest model is not only a little better, it’s also a little cheaper.

The new iPad is powered by an updated A16 chip and comes with “double the starting storage” of 128GB. The tablet starts at $349 and will be available March 12 in a variety of colors, including blue, pink, yellow, and silver.
The 10th-generation iPad, the predecessor to the device unveiled today, was a bit of an outlier in Apple’s tablet lineup. It was released in 2022, featuring a better processor and a larger screen than the 9th-generation iPad, but also a price hike of $449, up from the $329 Apple was asking for its predecessor.
The iPad lineup remains a bit of a confusing one, but for fans of the brand, there’s no such thing as a bad iPad. And even a slightly updated base iPad is sure to find its fans.
