Apple is preparing to launch updated 13- and 15-inch versions of the MacBook Air laptop, the hardware basis of which will be the proprietary Apple M4 processor. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the official presentation of the new products will take place in March of this year.

Rumors about Apple’s intention to release an updated MacBook Air with an M4 chip have been circulating for quite some time. It was even mentioned in the beta version of macOS 15.2, which was released back in December. Gurman previously wrote that the MacBook Air would be presented earlier than other spring novelties from Apple, such as the iPhone 16e and iPad Air. However, Apple recently presented the iPhone 16e, which became the company’s most affordable smartphone in the current generation, but the MacBook Air’s turn never came.

The situation may change soon. According to Gurman, the laptop will go on sale in March, and employees of the company’s marketing departments and retail network are currently preparing to promote it. He also added that the stores are currently running low on MacBook Air models with M2 and M3 chips. This may indicate the imminent launch of an updated version of the device.
