Apple resumes advertising on social network X for the first time in two years

Apple has resumed advertising on its social network X for the first time in more than two years. The company suspended marketing activities on the platform in November 2022, disagreeing with statements from its owner Elon Musk.

In particular, the main Apple account posted an advert promoting the privacy features of the Safari browser, MacRumors noted; the Apple TV account posted an advert for a popular series on the streaming service of the same name.

Musk took over X (then Twitter) in 2022. He relaxed the social network’s moderation policies, angering its biggest partners. Apple was one of many brands that suspended advertising on X, along with Disney, Coca-Cola, Sony, IBM, Comcast, and other major US companies. They have since gradually returned to marketing on the platform.

Apple CEO Tim Cook and other members of the company’s senior management, including chief marketing officer Greg Joswiak, have maintained a presence on the social network since Musk bought it, though former Apple CMO Phil Schiller has left X in favor of alternatives like Mastodon and Bluesky.
