Initially, the refresh of the super-thin MacBook Air series of laptops was considered to be Apple’s first hardware announcement of the year, but now the debut of the new iPhone SE is vying for that status. As Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman explains, the new M4 processor will be installed in the MacBook Air no later than March of this year.

It should be noted that the current generation of MacBook Air based on the M3 processor was introduced in March last year, so the release of the successor next month maintains the conditional rhythm of updating the model range. As expected, two new products will appear in the MacBook Air family, with a 13- and 15-inch display, respectively. Mentions of them slipped in December last year in the update of the macOS 15.2 operating system.
The fact that the stock of models based on the M3 processor family is already running low indicates that the announcement of the new generation of MacBook Air is imminent. At the same time, Apple’s next premiere this Wednesday will be the release of the fourth-generation iPhone SE, which will be transformed in appearance, will acquire a universal USB-C charging port and will provide support for the Apple Intelligence technology complex.
