Apple has updated the App Store – now it’s easier to search for applications

Apple periodically updates the interface of its digital content store, the App Store, to make navigation easier or to make certain sections more visible. Recently, developers have again changed the appearance of the App Store to make it more convenient for users to search for new applications for the iPhone and other devices of the company.

This time, Apple has made app categories more prominent. They now occupy an important place at the top of the screen. Category buttons themselves are not new, but they were previously located much lower on the page. Now categories are the first thing the user sees when opening the “Applications” and “Games” tabs.

App categories are one of the best ways to find new apps, as App Store products are sorted into multiple categories. It is not yet clear on what basis the three categories displayed at the top of the screen are selected. It probably takes into account previous downloads or search history on each specific device. This way, users with different interests will be offered different categories.

This approach should greatly simplify the search for new applications, since sorting by category in the App Store is quite convenient. This update has already begun rolling out and will soon be available to all App Store digital content users.
