Apple has pushed back the release of its smart home control device to 2026

According to Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman, Apple no longer plans to release the Home Hub, a smart home control center, this year due to difficulties in developing features based on Apple Intelligence and a new version of the Siri assistant. The journalist points out that the company now hopes to bring the device to market in 2026.

Apple’s smart home hub is expected to feature a 7-inch square display and a camera, as well as support for AI features and various proprietary apps such as FaceTime. Along with this, the Home Hub will allow you to conveniently control various smart home devices.

The development of the new version of Siri has encountered a number of technical problems, which have forced Apple to delay the launch of already announced features. Gurman initially wrote that Apple would release the smart home hub in March of this year. He later reported that the company had pushed the launch to April or later in the year. Now, he says the situation is more complicated, and the Home Hub won’t hit the market until next year.

«The company is considering delaying it until 2026, when the new Siri features are expected to arrive. If that happens, it will be a disappointment to Apple fans who are expecting the company to make a bigger push into the smart home. But the product likely won’t generate significant revenue. It’s really just Apple’s version of Google’s Nest Hub,” Gurman said in a statement.
