AMD to talk about new RDNA 4 graphics architecture and announce Radeon RX 9000 graphics cards based on it on February 28

On February 28, AMD will reveal all the details about the new RDNA 4 graphics architecture, as well as the Radeon RX 9000 graphics cards based on it. This was reported through his X page by David McAfee, General Manager of AMD’s Client Processors and Radeon Graphics Division.

«The wait is almost over. Join us on February 28th at 8am ET [4pm EST, – ed.] for our unveiling of the next generation of AMD Radeon RX 9000 graphics cards,” McAfee wrote.

He added that the new Radeon cards will go on sale in early March. However, the AMD top manager did not specify the exact date of the start of sales of the new products.

The full presentation of the next generation of Radeon graphics will be broadcast on the AMD YouTube channel. The company is expected to talk about the full specifications of the new graphics cards, their performance, as well as prices. AMD announced its presentation a few hours after Nvidia announced the launch dates of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 graphics cards. Apparently, this is exactly what the “red team” was waiting for.

AMD has adjusted its graphics card naming scheme to be more in line with Nvidia’s. The new Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 cards are expected to compete directly with the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070, respectively.

AMD previously said that the announcement of the RDNA 4 architecture and products based on it deserved a separate event. That is why the company did not announce new graphics solutions during the presentation at the CES 2025 exhibition, which was mainly devoted to new mobile and desktop processors.

Amid the announcement of the upcoming presentation, AMD’s head of gaming Frank Azor denied rumors circulating on the Internet that the company is also preparing to release a Radeon RX 9070 XT with 32 GB of memory.
