AMD has released another mobile processor in the Ryzen 8040H series in China – the Ryzen 7 8745H model. The new product is equipped with eight Zen 4 cores and integrated Radeon 780M graphics based on 12 RDNA 3 execution units. Unlike most other Ryzen 8040H mobile processors, the new Ryzen 7 8745H is not equipped with a built-in AMD XDNA AI engine.

There were previously rumors that AMD is developing another mobile processor without a Neural Processing Unit (NPU). Then it was assumed that the new chip would have characteristics similar to the Ryzen 7 8845HS. However, these assumptions did not come true. The Ryzen 7 8745H has a maximum frequency of 4.9 GHz, which is 200 MHz lower than the older model.
The integrated graphics of the Ryzen 7 8745H processor also operates at a lower frequency – 2.6 GHz versus 2.7 GHz for the Ryzen 7 8845HS.
Lenovo XiaoXin 14 Pro was one of the first laptops to receive the new processor. The laptop is priced at 5,499 yuan ($768) and is equipped with 24 GB of RAM. The version of the laptop with 32 GB of RAM and the older Ryzen 7 8845HS is priced at 5,599 yuan ($773). The new product is already available on the same online trading platform JD.com.
